Brusha, brusha, brusha

We have electric toothbrushes that Campbell has been obsessed with for quite a while. It's a surefire way to keep her entertained while you need to get ready to go somewhere.

Poor thing had to wait until the week before her 1st birthday to get her own teeth, but when she did, she was very excited to start brushing them (with her Elmo toothbrush, no less). We brush them while she is in the bath and her face lights up every time she sees me put the toothpaste on the toothbrush.

Recently, she started saying teeth when she saw us brushing ours or saw her toothbrush and apparently now she's picked up on the sound of the electric toothbrushes.

15 month stats

We went to Campbell's 15-month well check this afternoon. Daddy got to go with us for the first time since her 6 month check (which I was very thankful for). She is doing everything that she should be doing and the Dr. said she looks great! We were the first appointment after lunch and the room was a little warm. When the nurse went to measure Campbell's head, she looked at her and said "Hot." So needless to say, she is definitely on track for her verbal skills.

She weighed in at a whopping 23 lbs 9 oz (between 50-75th %ile and up from 19 lbs 13 oz at 12 months!), 31.5 inches (75th %ile, up from 28.5) and her head circumference is 45 cm (she has a tiny head- 25th %ile).

She also got 3 shots, which she absolutely hated (and knew were coming when the nurse came back in). But, she handled them like a champ and had stopped crying by the time we had her dressed and ready to go (with the help of a sippy cup of milk).

Flashback Friday

At this time last year, Campbell was:

learning to roll over

cheering on the Longhorns with Grandpa

enjoying her new, posh swing

and, just being generally funny and adorable (I guess some things never change!)

Interesting Choice

I thought for sure Campbell's first animal sound would be either meow or woof woof. But, it seems as though she decided to go another way. For the longest time I couldn't tell if this was a cluck or a quack because she always did it while we were reading a book that had the ducks and the chickens on pages facing each other. Confusing.
