The Feds

Campbell had her first run-in with FBI agents on Monday. Ok, so it wasn't really agentS, just one agent and it was one of my oldest friends, T. And it wasn’t so much a run-in as a friendly visit. Since T lives in Washington DC (you know, 'cause that's where the FBI is), Campbell hadn't met her yet. Campbell was very impressed when she met Auntie T as she brought her a new lovie. It was a bear with a . . . LION on it! Does T know our family or what?

We went to lunch with T and got to see her younger sister, Little T, as well. Campbell was a doll throughout lunch. We got to reminisce about old times, catch up on what has been going on in our lives and just gab. I'm thinking that we might need to take a trip up to DC very soon to visit T again because 2 years in between visits is too long!

In other news, C got her first pair of sunglasses today. She doesn't like the bright sun on walks or when we go shopping, and I had been meaning to pick some up forever. Well, I finally remembered today and I must say, she looks smashing!

Flashback Friday

First time holding my sweet baby in my arms. I had just finished 23 hours of labor and boy, does my hair look like it. Totally worth it though.

3 months

My baby girl is 3 months old. I can hardly believe it. Well, actually she is 3 months and 2 days old now. I would have blogged sooner, but we have been growing through a 3-month growth spurt and it hasn't been pretty. She wants to eat every 45 minutes- 1 hour and wants to sleep oh, never. It took me 2 1/2 hours to get her down for a nap today and then the dogs woke her up after 18 minutes. Boo dogs, boo.

Other than that, Campbell is doing well. I just keep telling myself "this too shall pass". Some of her favorite things to do are play with/ "talk to" her cow, sing songs, go for walks and play with her burp cloths. Weird kid. :)

We did a "photo shoot" with Ms. Campbell yesterday. At her previous shoots, she hasn't noticed her age sticker at all. This month she kept trying to peel it off and crunch it. I said that she already knows that a real lady never admits her true age.

Some favorites from the shoot:

Rollin' with the homies

Campbell is just blowing through milestones this week! She hates tummy time so for some time now, she's been pushing with her legs when I put her down. Yesterday she was finally successful in rolling over to her back! I was actually trying to take some funny pictures on the lion blanket that Matt and Sarah gave us (using it like a bearskin rug) so I was totally surprised when she rolled.

After the first time, I put her back on her tummy to see if she could do it again. Then I went and got the video camera. The first video I took is a full minute of her getting to her side and then proceeding to look up at my and grin while lounging there for about 45 seconds. We regrouped and were able to catch the roll "on tape" (really, I know that will embarrass her, I just can't help it). Feel free to turn your sound down to avoid my annoying mommy voice.

Flashback Friday

Several blogs I read do a flashback Friday and since I'm trying to remember to blog more, I thought that stealing this idea from them would ensure that I have at least one entry per week. :)

Here I am on June 7 at 39 weeks, 2 days pregnant. 6 days later, Campbell was here. I already can't remember what it was like to be this big!

Laughing! On Tape!

Well, you know, not technically "tape", but I grew up in the 80s so I'll always say tape. I'm sure this will embarrass Campbell horribly in about 13 years. But we caught her laughing! So fun, even Beau had to join in.

Dr's Visit

Campbell has been acting extra fussy lately and spitting up a lot more, so we decided to have her pediatrician check her out. I also found out that I have thrush so the Dr. wanted to see if she had it as well so we can both be treated. Good news is, she doesn't have thrush and the fussing/ spitting up is due to the fact that she now weighs 14 lbs, 5 oz, up from 12 lbs 7 oz at her 2 month appt, so she needs her reflux meds adjusted.

The bad news is that the Dr. thinks it looks like she has torticollis. I've googled it to death already and it looks like thankfully, it can be treated with physical therapy (some simple stretches). So, the Dr. referred us to a group that has physical therapists who can come out to your house and teach you all the stretches and exercises to do to correct the problem. The pediatrician told Zach (I was working at home so I couldn't go) that Campbell's neck muscles seem really tight. I'm so sad that this could be causing her to be uncomfortable but I am happy that it isn't something more serious. Keep us in your thoughts and I'll be sure and update on how she's doing.

Zach emailed me and said that there was a wild 2 year old at the Dr's office. Here is how Campbell acted in the waiting room.

Such a good girl. :)
